party time, excellent...

Maree's gorgeous, traveling vintage French number
This weekend I broke out the traveling party dress, because it was time to celebrate a couple of things:

* My Sydney mates Jac and Michael had a beautiful baby boy, Luca, on Friday.
*My friend Julie is celebrating a very special birthday.
*it was my wonderful husband, Jeremy's, birthday on Wednesday.
* A great week, culminating with the extremely unexpected and very kind profile by the Melbourne design world LEGEND Lucy Feagins. She wrote about me on her uber-blog The Design Files.  and I am still blushing at the kind things she wrote (and my little blog almost needs a cigarette after all the loving it has had this weekend). Thank you Lucy and Jenny at the Design Files.

So, back to the traveling dress... it is another cracking op shop find by my best mate Maree.  She has an amazing collection of vintage party dresses and this is my fave.  When we lived in Sydney it made regular trips north and south, for extra-special occasions.  It is the kind of dress that fits you whether you are 3 kg's up or down, makes you stand up straighter, and feel fab the minute you slip it on.  The label says 'Geral' Paris - does anyone know of it?

I hope you are having a great weekend too.

  1. oh HEATHER thankyou! I feel very lucky to be able to share your gorgeous work on TDF and especially at such late notice! You are a superstar! You have inspired me to squeeze more into each day. I am going to set my alarm for 6,00am tomorrow and try and have a day of 'Heather Nette King Efficiency!" (HNKE) X
